Hard up pop stars find alternative employment

When I open up my inbox in the morning I get the usual amount of crap ( see Mr Ugo ) from Nigerian accountants wanting to place $10,000,000 into my modest bank account, my Bank asking me to confirm my details (Via some dodgy eastern European proxy) and people telling me how I can make my penis 5 times larger ( gf must be complaining to random strangers again..). I take the fact that I get spam in two ways. Yes its annoying - but it also means that your websites are being indexed heh and over the course of months, I have developed my spam filters accordingly to automatically delete a good portion of spam.

It comes as no surprise then, that spammers come up with more and more ingenious ways of getting past our spam filters. From sending the email pertaining to be from ourselves ( spoofing ) to using style to re-form messages which would look stupid as text into odd looking texts on the merits of Viagra. However a new tool in the spammer's arsenal has emerged... CELEBRITY SPAM: yes you guessed it.. what better way to render my spam filters obsolete than blag me that none other than Billy Idol wants ME to Visit his online store and buy WIN XP AT DISCOUNT Prices.. now Billy ( and partner in crime Gloria Estefan ) - times can't be that hard!

Think this is not a bad idea, anything that highlights the risks of leaving your valubles in the car is good.. but reminding citizens of Bolton to lock thier car? lol Having lived in Bolton one and off for over 25 years i can't imagine a time i would have been STUPID ENOUGH to leave my car unlocked in a town center car park.. Bolton has one of the worst car crime rates in the north of England.

Need to Fix my Laptop.....

Is it just me that thinks that laptops are overhyped crap? My baggy old toshiba laptop is on the blink again, soon after I dropped the laptop cd rom onto the floor and damaged it ( and since then i cant install the new distro of linux onto the pissing thing). Going to have to take it to Maz's Computer shop in Altrincham. Waste of time for the amount of time i use it, but its a bit stupid having something there which does not work.. coz u never know when u will need it.

Gigs and Live Music in Bolton, Greater Manchester

Went out last night for a meal at Welsh's Caribbean Restaurant (St Georges Road, Bolton). Having been designated driver all night i decided to drop off the car and head down to the Dog and Partridge Pub on Bank Street, Bolton. They always have good djs on there at the weekend and it gives a good entertaining view of all the chav muppets fighting on Bank Street outside the taxi rank :/

Got talking to a few guys from the Bolton Music Collective. Thier website concentrates on live music and gigs in Bolton and is well worth a look.

Revenge of the dodgy sales guy

Had my second call from a quite well town directory site today, using the same sales pitch: ' wouldn't you like to see your client's page on page one of Google?'. What is funny is that I spend a great deal of my time improving people's search engine rankings and informed him that my client ( who had wisely passed him onto me ) was not in the position to pay £130 (PER YEAR! loll ) for a shitty bold entry and text link in their city guide.

The first salesman was even worse and even implied that Google give his site preferential treatment.. which when I actually questioned this and he realised that I knew a little more than their average sales victim.. he started to flap. Makes me wish I had some kind of recording device which I could convert into mp3 as I get far too many dickheads ringing up trying to get my card details since I got my free listing in yell.com.

There is something to pay for a one page advertisement on a site which is ranked and gives your company good value marketing opportunities... I am starting a restaurant guide soon for Bolton and whilst I will be charging a small fee for larger ads, it wouldn't be anywhere near the 130 quid city-_____ want ( mention no names:P).

Have spent almost all day working on mysql database and my eyes are now fecking sore. Makes me more interested in sorting out a bot to index information from sites rather than sourcing it myself but by indexing publicly acessable information myself i am hoping to create a business resource which will actually have some kind of relivance.
Connecting to my mysql hosting is not so hard as i use a nifty control panel but its still a drag.. suppose i can be greatfull i dont have to sit using SQL functions all day though.

Yes its true.. the tabloids had nothing to stir the masses with as they couldn't slate the England football team. .. so there u go.. another BSE style headline news sensationalistic pandemic of dodgy reporting.

There is a definite treat from this bird flu.. but I think its more likely the government has been hiding the fact from the public for some time to halt a panic. I would not be surprised if the virus was already here, it stands to reason.. do they have a special radar to scan the air for infected birds? Nope.. The Romanian authorities are doing a good job from the look of things, but short of using a mile long fly swat to stop all the birds from flying over their country they can't do much to help.

I stopped eating chicken when I saw that dodgy program about how they are bred for consumption.. would be ironic if the little feathered bastards dreamt up a far more ingenious way of killing me.

Google Local touches Earth

Having waited and waited, day after day, staring longingly at the letterbox in hope, my Google local confirmation arrived. Sweet... only 2 weeks late:P but better later than never. If any of you use Google you will be aware of the local results when you say.. type in 'web design bolton' into the search box, a list of local results pops up.

Google gets its information from Yell.com but I can see that they don't want to be limited or tied to yell. Thus, they allow business owners the chance to submit their own information for free.. rather than pay the yellow pages a couple of hundred quid to do the same.

You will need a Google mail account but its quite simple to sort out.. you fill in your details and then they will post you a card with a confirmation code.. 2-6 weeks later ( when they update the listings ) you have your own Google local listing.

I am currently looking at a way to promote this as a service to clients who can't work out how to do this, or cant be bothered.. either way if anyone has any problems give me a shout. its a free way to promote your business so why not do it?

Fans out of tune with recorded chants

What a piss take. That shows how buggered up football has become. Its not recorded chants and cheers you need, its to get the grounds packed out with fans, singing and cheering their side on.. like it used to be. This is most likely the brainchild of some out of touch marketing exec, being paid almost as much as the players.. tell u what boys at the FA... I will give u some consultation for free..

a) tell the stewards to stop being lil' nazis: IF someone wants to stand up when a chant is being sung, let them ( most people sit down afterwards in true, lazy fashion ).

b) Sack these useless tw@t marketing men, take the money you save on their pay.. and reduce ticket prices so that people like myself can actually afford to go on a regular basis. I used to goto the Bolton games all the time up until a few years ago, now I am lucky if make one a year.

c) Realise that its a culture and NOT A F**kIN Business. No matter what you think your star player is worth in marketing revenue, or how much you money u can lick from the brown ring of Rupert Murdock.. Football is based upon fans.. fans pay ur wages.

Losing Weight.. the proper way

After talking shite for ages about how I was going to goto the gym, I actually went to my friend's gym this morning.. and I am still sore now! heh. I have been to the usual run of the mill gyms in Bolton like David Lloyd / total fitness / esporta etc and they are all good and well ( if u are already looking like a sex god lol ). These places live off the fact that people pay for a full year and the majority either a) bugger it off after about 3 weeks and never go, but have signed up for the full year b) People go and feel intimidated by everyone seeing them in their least glamorous pose.

What really struck me by these places too is that it was more like a social club then a place to get fit. Now this is all good and well for the lucky ones of you out there who already have a fit body, having looked after your fitness, but for the kebab eating, stella drinking fat bastards of the world like me, I already have a social life thanks and its waiting at the pub with a 20 pack of ciggs and pint of stella.

So anyway, once I had finally made the appointment at his gym in Haliwell, Bolton, I could not back down. After quite a bit of trepidation at the thought of embarrassing myself with my complete lack of fitness, when I got there the atmosphere was quite relaxed. What followed was a session on the skipping ropes ( trust me, this is proper exercise and not just for kids lol ). This knackered me out already and I would normally have given up there and then, got a shower and buggered off to the pub. Alas, I was not allowed to.. this is what having a personal trainer is about, they see this lack of motivation everywhere and its their job to stamp it out:P

So having done work at skipping, pad work, learning a bit of boxing ( which in itself is such top exercise ), I did some bag work. All this with much appreciated intervals of stretches and short breaks to get my breath back ( if I had not quit smoking I don't think I would have lasted as long at all ). This whole session only took about 40 mins but for a start I am quite proud of myself. I feel like I have started something I can carry on and for once I have motivation AFTER coming from the gym, even if I feel so sore lol - only natural though, after the length of time I left since I last did any kind of training. The gym and personal trainer there are really good and I would recommend them to anyone. In fact I think I will: Bolton Personal Fitness Trainer.

Couldn't organise a gangbang in a brothel.

You wonder why the 'war on terror' is going so badly when they can't even organise a rescue effort in their own back yard. I am horrified and disgusted by the scenes I see as people hold babies up and cry ' save us'. This is the kind of stuff you are used to seeing in Africa.. which is bad enough.. even worse in a way because we are accustomed to it.

One Parallel I do see, is the skin colour.. most of the suffering there are black Americans, makes me wonder that if this disaster had happened in Texas or Orange County, whether Bush and his army of incompetents would have reacted sooner.

Bush is due down in New Orleans later today, just hoping that they turn the tables and lynch the redneck muppet. All i can hope for is that someone, some place, things about organising a relief effort before organising the national guard to protect buildings and extra petrol to fuel the nation of stupid fuel guzzling cars. What this shows is that the USA Goverment sees the economy more important than thousands of low income families.

Looking at the scenes of New Orleans, I am dumbstruck.. heart goes out to them.. but then I think.. wait.. this looks like the floods in Bangladesh, Romania, in other parts of the world which get much less coverage.

This is indeed a tragedy, but I fear it's something which is going to be more and more common, the more we bugger this world up ( not that we have not gone past no return already ). Seeing an entire city underwater is, I admit, a first for me and I can understand the media being drawn to it, the real story should be however, how this thing is going to repeat itself all over the world, in places like London, Holland ( note: go to red-light district and eat cake before its swimming ) etc.

Bush as usual was showing his sympathetic side on TV.. ( lying gimp ), but he still does nothing about global warming, when this is like an omen of things to come. Maybe, when the disasters strike his rich buddies rather than the poor, he may think again.. or maybe not.. it tickles me that in the face of such utter desperation and devastation.. the news channels have time to talk about the impact it will have on oil prices and thus... the price at which child labourers can make trainers for their spoilt teenagers :P

Stopped smoking............now what?

Like many people i fell into the trap of smoking when i was really young. Thus by the ripe old age of 27 i have been a smoker for like 14 years.. not very good init. So now, I have not smoked a cig in almost 6 weeks. I don't really crave them either.. What i do miss is smoking the occasional spliff.. as i was allways partial to that.

However.. in order to rid myself of this affliction i gave up smoking alltogether.. and it really is a good idea.. all the old cleashays.. i gained lung capacity, feel better, less coughing, regaining my sense of taste and smell.. but to what end????

I now eat loads! haha and still paranoid i could have given myself cancer before i gave up cigs.. so probs end up at Doctors with some bullshit excuse to have an xray and put my mind at rest.

The moral.. when i was 13, people my present age used to tell me "i wish i had never given up smoking.. " whilst smoking a cig.. the irony struck me even at that tender age and thus, i didn't take one bit of notice. Thus, the idea now of telling kids that they shouldn't smoke when i didn't take one blind bit of notice myself, sounds a bit stupid.

Don't do it kids. Think all of them should smoke at least a lil dope though.. just so they will know in later life how crap prescription drugs are :P

Talk about a yo yo economy. Labour tell us on the news how well the economy has been since they took over.. but all they really did, was create a false economy in which interest rates were kept artificially low for a long period of time. People are in major debt.. banks, after showing record profits ( on the loan interest ) are now putting aside more and more money against bad debt.. debt owed by thousands of people, who can't afford to pay now, faced with the increased interest rates ( an increase which the Bank of England deemed necessary to try and discourage people from excessive lending ).

People are no longer spending money on shitty plastic televisions which die 3 days after the warranty expires.. we must stop this.. we must get people back into the high street to buy crap quality clothes for 100 quid, which an 8 year old kid made in some far east factory( and for a lot less than 100 quid ).

The bank of England reduces interest rates once again.. this is not the answer.. why do we always need growth? Why not Stability? lol Growth is bollox.. if the economy was biological, it would be classified as a cancer... Money is lent... interest is paid.. where does it go? definitely not back into the local economy. If you were stupid enough to get out a loan to buy something stupid and materialistic, then pay it back, spend less money.. don't get out another loan to pay that one back.. loan companies and banks are scum.. but that's another rant and another day.

Seems that once again, the Labour government is trying to copy the idiots over the water in an attempt to quell the growing problems in our society... by branding 'Asian' - 'British-Asian'.. no longer do you tick 'Asian' on your governmental forms, but 'British-Pakistani' etc..
What a load of bollox.. I know guys who's GRANDPARENTS came here in the 60's.. they are third generation and as British as the rest of us.. or they would be, if the government would stop with this politically correct pile of shite.

What is needed is one standard category.. 'British'. What it basically means employers take someone on, based upon their skills and attitude.. not on the basis of some ethnic quota they need to fill; It means that people shouldn't be treated different on the basis of their race, colour or religious beliefs.. something which this whole multicultural circus was supposed to promote but has in fact just widened the ethnic gap.

I started this blog because I look at the way England is at the moment, especially after the bombings in London and I feel that if ordinary people make their views known, even if its to a handful of people unwise enough to surf into blogger.com to read my irate waffle, maybe we can as a nation stop being such apathetic moaning sods.

Think we need to regain some perspective in this country or its all going to go down the drain. Procedures and safeguards established during the 1990s to 'destroy racsim' have become counter productive. I have nothing against asians living here, they add to our culture tenfold. What I do believe though, is that if someone moves to this country, they should make the effort to learn the language. I think free English lessons should be available to anyone planning on living here ( and no doubt they are ).

But tell me, why should Bolton Council Vans have translations on the side? Why should there be a law against ' inspiring religious hatred' and not just ' inspiring hatred'? Nobody should be allowed to treat someone differently because of their skin colour or religion, or in any other way, tell other's to hate another section of society. This whole doctrine of political correctness has turned full circle and is causing segregation and divisions rather than healing them.

Personally I think some English people are jealous of the way that other groups maintain their social identity whilst we as a nation seem to have lost ours and feel that if we try and inspire national pride that we are someway affiliated with tossers like the BNP. The fact that Bolton Council was not going to celebrate St George's Day, for fear of offending other 'minorities' was a farce. These very minorities turned round and told them to stop talking bollox.

The fact the suspected suicide bombers in London were from Leeds and most of them I think born here, shows how far these idiots in government have taken us down the road to multicultural heaven. We need to regain some perspective or this country will go to pot.
